Tier 2 · Methodology

Your reps can close. Can they get in the room?

Closing ability is not the constraint. Access is. The Methodology tier installs the framework that gets your team in front of executive buyers with a point of view worth their time.

The Problem · What We Hear

Good reps. Wrong rooms. First call sounds like every other vendor.

Your team knows how to close. The problem is they are closing working-level deals with working-level people. Executive buyers are available — but they are not showing up to a meeting without a reason to.

  • First conversations are discovery calls, not executive dialogues — the rep walks in with questions instead of a point of view
  • Deals are champion-only — one contact, no breadth, one departure away from dead
  • The rep knows the product cold but cannot connect it to the account’s actual business problem
  • Executive sponsors get invited in late — after the working-level relationship is built — and it shows
  • Win reviews find the same pattern: the team never got high enough, fast enough
“My reps are great at building relationships. The problem is they’re building them with the wrong people, and by the time they realize it, it’s too late to recover.”

The Hypothesis of Value solves the access problem before the first meeting happens. It forces a point of view — a hypothesis about the account’s problem, the business impact, and the value of solving it.

Executives do not block vendor calls because they are busy. They block them because the calls are not worth their time. The Hypothesis of Value changes that calculation.

Methodology Instrument 01 ·

Hypothesis of Value

A pre-meeting intelligence framework that structures what your rep knows, what they hypothesize, and how they plan to engage — before the first executive conversation.

The Framework · What It Produces

Stop pitching. Start diagnosing.

  • The Problem — what the public record shows about the account's business pressures. No inside information. Forces the rep to do the research before the room.
  • The Hypothesis — if the problem is real, what does solving it look like? Named specifically, not generically. Gets tested in the first meeting — not assumed.
  • How We Engage — entry point, warm path, Crawl / Walk / Run progression. The rep knows the ask before they pick up the phone.
  • First Meeting Playbook — opening, questions that test the hypothesis, and the specific next step the rep is trying to earn. Not talking points. A plan.
